Started on the engineer's car today. A little slow going as it is so cold the primer never dried.

Waiting on some stainless hardware and a set of wheels.

Passenger Cars

Started work on the passenger cars. The wood in the bottom was rotted out.

I built the bases out of some 1x6 tongue and groove.

Routered out the pockets for the stakes.

Moving the Caboose!

We hired a crane company out of Portland to move the caboose 16 miles from Astoria Oregon to Seaside. All in all the move went very well. The caboose weighs 38,000 lbs total. The wheel assemblies weigh 7,000 lbs each.

We had to cut the cupola off or special permits would need to be obtained.

28,000 lbs of caboose is airborn!
